Trip itinerary:
Saturday, February 10, 2014: Loreto Baja California
Arrive in Loreto Baja in time for our trip meeting at 5:30 PM, location TBA.

Sunday, February 11: San Ignacio Springs
A van will drive us to beautiful San Ignacio Springs ( approx. 3.5 - 4 hours), a magical resort at the edge of the desert. We will be staying by the San Ignacio River in beautiful double occupancy yurts and casitas (complete with private bath and showers).

Monday - Thursday: Whale Camp!
We will get picked up in the morning and drive to Laguna San Ignacio. The next three nights we will be at an Eco Camp at the edge of the breeding lagoons of the gray whales. We will stay in simple ( think Baja simple) double-occupancy wooden cabins with platform beds, a sink, and enough room to store your clothes and luggage. Every cabin has a small porch from which you can watch the beautiful sunrise and sunsets - and look for whales.
Local guides ( pangeros) will take us out into the lagoons on small boats ( pangas) twice daily to be with the gray whales and their calves. ( always depending on wind and weather conditions ).
Camp staff prepares tasty meals three times a day for us, and coffee, tea and hot water will be available all day. Happy hour is every day from 5-6PM.

Activities will include whale watching, naturalist talks, optional morning Qi Gong, nature immersion activities ( think forest bathing at the ocean) and time to walk, sit, relax and take in the energy of this magical place.

Thursday: San Ignacio - Loreto
A van will take us back to San Ignacio where we will eat lunch and will have some time to explore the small town and La Misión San Ignacio.
We will arrive back in Loreto with enough time to settle into our accommodations and for you to enjoy dinner at the restaurant of your own choosing.

Friday: Land or water based excursion /end of trip
Details of this day are still in the planning stages as outfitters are still on summer break!
The day will be weather dependent and either include a boat trip into the Sea of Cortez or a land based adventure exploring the mountains and canyons of the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and the historic Misión San Xavier.

Our trip will conclude in the afternoon. There will be an optional dinner celebration in the evening!
Saturday February 17, 2024:
Fly back home or continue to explore this amazing part of the world!
